Why do you need an effective RF earth?
- Minimise unwanted currents in your shack
- Reduce unwanted interference
- Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your antenna
- Reduce likelihood of receiving RF shocks
- Reduce unwanted interference to your radio, computer and electrical appliances

Suggestions
- Install an electrician’s earth stake as close as possible to your shack. Connect a heavy gauge wire from the stake back to a central point near your equipment. (house earthing wire is a good option – refer links)
- Connect the earth point from all equipment to the earth lead
- Weatherproof your earth stake and check for a good electrical connection periodically
